Enfield Town EJA 3 Bowers & Pitsea EJA 2

Town showed great attitude and resilience in twice coming from behind, including conceding a first minute goal, to win this game, with all the goals coming in the close first half.

It did not take long to claw back the deficit when Stef Georgiou  went on a great run before setting up Reece Coughlan who slotted home for the equaliser in the 14th minute. Bowers restored their lead on 25 minutes, but Town were then indebted to keep Cesur Uzar for firstly saving a penalty and then a shot from the rebound. Coughlan missed a good chance to equalise before he did restore parity with a screamer into the top corner of the goal. Town then got their noses in front in injury time when a well worked free kick routine found Nana Baldi who side footed the ball into the net.

In truth, Town should have won the game by a far wider margin with the second half consisting of a stream of chances. But full credit to the Bowers keeper for making a string of fine saves to keep his side in the game. Georgiou  forced an early second half save and then hit a post, the keeper saved from Paul Ogunboye and Marcus Pancho in quick succession, before Elliot Antoin missed from 6 yards with the keeper beaten, before the stopper again prevented Max Frangiamore and Stef Georgiou in the closing minutes.

A great result, but the score line could and should have been more comprehensive.
