Jon Edwards opened the scoring for Royston in the 16th minute after a move down the right involving former Towner Brandon Adams.

The Crows dominated possession for much of the half, looking a well organised outfit at this early stage of the season.Town finished the half with an improved showing.

Half-time: 0-1

Royston made more changes than Town at the break and shortly afterwards, and this may have contributed to the hosts coming much more into the game, with plenty of the ball and pace up front. Town did, however, make a significant number of changes just beyond the hour mark.

After 82 minutes a triallist converted at the near post after being set up by a fellow trialist.  Arguably a fair, entertaining, outcome in the end in very blustery conditions.
