In this one Town looked relatively comfortable throughout, again with a number of triallists showing promise.

They took the lead on 13 minutes when a trialist won the ball from Copeland on the right, shrugged off a couple of challenges as he ran into the box, and his low shot at an acute angle beat Sambridge at his near post.

A couple of minutes before the break, Josh Urquhart played the ball to a trialist on the left, and his low cross was converted at the near post by Shaun Okojie after home centre back Ahern had attempted to clear.

On 75 minutes, another trialist got onto the scoresheet after the ball had been played in from the right and knocked back to him inside the box.

Grays pulled back a consolation a minute later when former Towner Mitch Hahn completed a good move down the home right with a cross-shot that had enough on it to beat the keeper.  Hahn had earlier been unlucky around the hour mark when he crashed a shot against the crossbar.

Junior Mubiayi, Scott Thomas and Sam Youngs came on for the second half, alongside eight trialists.
