Floodlight appeal

The club are delighted to announce that the £11,830 raised by supporters during the recent Crowdfunding appeal has been contractually allocated towards a significant floodlight upgrading, a replacement drinks cooler system for the main clubhouse and it will also contribute healthily towards more general stadium maintenance over the coming months.

With the 2020-21 competitive campaign due to start later this month, this is timely good news following a period of activity-mothballing, balancing the books, and a good deal of recent work to ensure that the club is covid- precautions compliant on matchdays, with home friendlies against Chesham United and Welling United to come, followed by the first competitive match of the new season against Lewes on Saturday 19th September.  Many thanks are due to every single contributor – without whose help this work would never have got off the ground.

Speaking at a virtual meeting of Enfield Town Supporters Society members last night (3rd Septmber), Chairman Paul Reed said “It’s great news to be able to announce that, thanks to the extraordinary generosity of Town supporters via the recent Crowdfunding appeal and a subsequent tender exercise, CU Phosco Lighting Ltd will be carrying out the identified necessary floodlight work in the coming weeks, and by next month (October) supporters should see a noticeable difference in terms of a much improved lux level which is suitable both for Step 3 and higher in the non-league pyramid. One bulb will be added to each pylon, all existing bulbs will be cleaned, and these works will contribute towards a 20% uplift in the overall matchday experience, including clearer match videos.

“This accounts for approximately £9k of the generous donations received, with approximately £2k going towards the essential replacement of the Butler’s Bar draught drinks coolant system, and the remainder going towards essential ground maintenance such as painting, weeding and other refurbishments.  Many, many thanks to everyone who donated – we couldn’t have done any of this without you!”
