Huge congratulations to our under-18s who won their league title on Thursday with a 2-1 win over Hinton Revolution Stars in what was a straight shootout between the teams placed first and second in front of more than 300 fans at the DB.
Coached by Town’s esteemed head groundsman, Neil Lutwyche, the youth team took an early lead through Samuel Harris, were pegged back and then clinched victory courtesy of Sean Robinson’s penalty to win the green division of the Watford Friendly League and spark huge celebrations.
“This surpasses anything that words can describe,” said Neil who laid out the dressing room beforehand to look as professional as possible.
“It’s been a tough season. We have fought really hard and the attitude, desire and determination – coupled with the willingness to learn – is what really paid off. I couldn’t be more proud of them.”
